Chris Broussard ruffled quite a few feathers this week with his comments he made about Toronto in a recent broadcast.
“It’s not America!” said Broussard. “And you feel it! Especially as an African-American,” he continued.
The Fox Sports pundit was speaking on the possibility of Kevin Durant being traded to the Toronto Raptors and an unconfirmed rumor that the Toronto Raptors might trade reigning rookie of the year Scottie Barnes for him.
“It’s a different situation than African-Americans are used to being in,” continued Broussard in the broadcast. “I’ve talked to people in that organization … about can they keep African-American superstars there?”
After the swift backlash on social media, Broussard took to Twitter to explain his comments.
“Lol. “Treated worse in Canada”? Never said that.”

Broussard continued:
“I never said Blacks are “treated worse in Toronto” than in America. Never! That’s ridiculous. I said living there is different and “not the same as living in America for Blacks.” Very diverse city. But just 8% Black. I love visiting Toronto. Visiting.”
