The conclusion of the NBA Finals not only meant the end of the season, it also meant the start of the trade window. One of the multiple trade rumors surrounding the NBA scene is Zach LaVine’s one which will see him leave the Bulls.
The Bulls have initiated talks with multiple franchises for a trade involving Zach LaVine. The Sixers are one of the teams to have received the trade proposal. But according to NBA insider, Kyle Neubeck, the Philly front office is not interested.
This has been the case for a while now, as the Bulls tried to ship out LaVine previously in the February deadline, but his injury made the attempts unsuccessful. Due to his foot surgery, LaVine only managed to play 25 times this season. The UCLA alum averaged 19.5 points this season but that hardly returns the value of his $215 million contract.
The Sixers are looking to add a third star alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. With LeBron James, Paul George, Jimmy Butler and Brandon Ingram on the shortlist, getting LaVine’s for a hefty cap hit is not something ideal for them. The Pelicans’ Ingram provides a better financial option for the Sixers. So, the Bulls might have to look elsewhere to get the deal over the line.
Latest on Zach LaVine’s Injury
After suffering a foot injury in January, LaVine did not step onto the NBA court. LaVine is currently going through a lengthy rehabilitation process and recovery. With a long off-season ahead, the 29-year-old will get the much-needed time to recuperate.
In a recently posted video on social media, Zach LaVine is seen putting in the work on the court by practicing his jump shots, stepbacks and 3s. Among other activities observed were golfing, rope hopping, boxing, as he captioned it “Just a Glimpse”.
