This decision honours Rose’s substantial contributions to the team and his remarkable impact on the franchise.
“The Chicago Bulls will retire Derrick Rose’s No. 1 jersey in the rafters next season, ESPN has learned. Rose, a Chicago native, played eight seasons with the Bulls, becoming the youngest MVP in NBA history, and is now being honored as a fabric of the organization.” Charania wrote in his recent post on X (formerly Twitter).

The Bulls also announced Rose’s jersey retirement, marking a significant milestone in the franchise’s history. His iconic No. 1 jersey will be honoured, making him the fifth player in the Bulls’ history to receive this accolade. Rose will join legendary figures such as Jerry Sloan (No. 4), Bob Love (No. 10), Michael Jordan (No. 23), and Scottie Pippen (No. 33).

Derrick Rose Sarcastically Shrugs Off Idea Of A Statue Honor
The Chicago Bulls selected Derrick Rose with the first overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He quickly established himself as a promising player after debuting in the league.
