All the hype surrounding the premiere of “The Last Dance” on ESPN Sunday night had sports fans not only appreciating the greatness of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, but got many people bringing up LeBron James for no apparent reason.
While everyone was getting their first-hand look at Jordan’s excellence and unmatched competitiveness, it drove others points home to reaffirm’s Jordan’s G.O.A.T. status over the current Lakers superstar.
After noticing all the online unsolicited hate being thrown towards LeBron way, former NBA Finals MVP Chauncey Billups came to the defense of James.
Billups took to Twitter to ask why the documentary “has brought on so much unwarranted, unnecessary hate” on LeBron, a four-time MVP and three-time champion. “Why cant people just enjoy the greatness of both guys”?
James was all for moving up the date for the documentary, but has not commented on it publicly like some of his peers. He likely knows that one comment on Twitter will be turned completely around and lead to people fighting in the comment section.
