Charles Oakley, the man widely considered to be Michael Jordan’s “enforcer” throughout his career, is speaking up on the never-ending beef that Isiah Thomas had with the great one.
Thomas recently stated that Jordan needs to apologize to him in public if the two of them ever have a chance of burying the hatchet and moving on from their beef that started way back in the 80s.
According to Charles Oakley, MJ has no intentions of being friends with Thomas. During a recent podcast appearance, he spoke about the situation as it stands with the two men. While most believe the reason behind it is how the Detroit Pistons tried to hurt Michael Jordan during their matchups, former NBA player Charles Oakley has a different theory.
“Michael does not want to be your friend, Isiah,” Oakley said. “For the fifth time, he does not want to be your friend! Stay on ESPN, keep talking on TNT. Now you’re trying to say everybody’s better than Mike. It’s OK! You are not better than Mike.”He came to your city and took your city. That’s why you’re really mad. He took over Chicago.”
Thomas saw the video of Oakley speaking on him, so he fired back on Twitter.

“I remember us kicking your ass a lot, some one please check my record vs any team he played on! Sit down be Humble”
According to Isiah Thomas, he and Michael Jordan’s families are close friends behind the scenes and MJ has allegedly had representatives reach out and apologize, but the Detroit Pistons legend wants his apology to be loud and in the public just like his disrespect is.
Back in December 2022, Thomas spoke about when Jordan first arrived in Chicago and how he made it real easy for him to walk the streets.
“When Michael Jordan got to Chicago, I made it real easy for him to walk those streets on the west side of Chicago. My family took care of him. My sister and his brother hung out as friends. My little nephew lived with Michael Jordan.
“Now, I’m being extremely good to this dude, I’m calling his house during this period of time.”
Michael Jordan clearly does not want to be his friend and we know how long he is able to hold a grudge, especially since he was once good friends with Charles Barkley and hasn’t spoken to him in over ten years based on a comment he said about him being terrible for the Charlotte Hornets franchise. Despite Oakley claiming that Jordan doesn’t want to be friends with Thomas, it hasn’t stopped Zeke from demanding an apology from MJ.
The Detroit Pistons legend wants an apology from Jordan for the time he went on national television and called him an asshole.
Michael Jordan has maintained his silence on the matter, but one person can only take so much after hearing his name dragged through the mud constantly in the media. Maybe after Jordan sells his stake in the Hornets will be the point he finally has a sit-down conversation to finally end this decades-long beef.
NBA fans would likely love to see it.
