Charles Barkley was asked about LaVar Ball’s recent comments on First Take and he did not mince words.
Ball caused a bunch of controversy when he stated that Molly Qerim could “switch gears with me anytime” during a segment that made her pause and react in a way that made social media go crazy.
The Turner Sports analyst had some harsh words for Ball on TMZ Sports.
“Wherever LaVar Ball is, there’s a village missing an idiot,” Barkley told TMZ Sports. “We should just keep LaVar off television. That would be the best way to be.”
Barkley added that he feels LaVar is hurting his sons, especially Lonzo, who got traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in a deal that got the Los Angeles Lakers Anthony Davis.
“It’s really unfair to his son. His son is a good player and a nice kid.”
When asked if LaVar can get a fresh start in Louisiana … Charles said, “He’s an idiot in all 50 states.”

Meanwhile, LaVar was not apologetic and shifted the blame to Molly instead.
“I don’t even have to respond to that on the fact that I meant no sexual intent on the fact that ‘switch gears’ means changing topics to me. Her mind in the gutter if she thinking something else. Only time I hit on her is if she’s breaking into my house and I mistake her for the Boogeyman,” he said.
