After decades of broadcasting NBA games, TNT’s popular “Inside the NBA” show is set to end its iconic run. In a recent bidding war, Turner Sports, TNT’s parent company, lost out to ESPN, Amazon, and NBC. This shift means fans will no longer see the beloved panel of Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson bringing their humor, insight, and unique perspectives to the screen.
During last Thursday night’s broadcast, Barkley voiced his disappointment with TNT’s handling of the NBA rights negotiations. Barkley made it clear that he has no plans to work overtime as the show wraps up.
“[It’s] 12:29 a.m. We’re walking out of here at 1 a.m. What [are] they gonna do? Fire us? ” Barkley said.
“Inside the NBA” has been a staple for fans since 1989, when TNT first started airing NBA games. Barkley joined the show in 2000, bringing a bold and unfiltered voice that quickly made him a fan favorite.
Charles Barkley Predicts A Tough Season Ahead For The Dallas Mavericks
Charles Barkley isn’t seeing a championship season in the Dallas Mavericks’ future. On Thursday night’s “Inside the NBA” broadcast, the Hall of Famer shared his view that the Mavericks will be in a challenging position in the Western Conference this season.
“I think they got lucky last year because of matchups. Everything worked out perfectly for them. his year, I think Phoenix is better, New Orleans is going to be better, the Lakers are going to be solid, Memphis is going to be good.
