Charles Barkley was one of Michael Jordan’s best friends back in the day. Unfortunately, their bonding did not last well, and Barkley and Jordan parted ways. But despite not being in good touch anymore, Sir Charles has a deep-rooted admiration for Jordan as an athlete. He believes that the Bulls’ legend’s mentality and credibility outshine every NBA athlete who has ever set foot on the court.
However, in a recent episode of ‘NBAonTNT’, Barkley had a surprising take on the entire NBA GOAT debate. “I don’t get into the debate between Michael [Jordan] and LeBron [James] because I think it’s weak journalism when guys on TV and radio try to get fools to call in the order. They’re both great,” stated Sir Charles.

Nevertheless, Barkley went on to label Jordan as the toughest basketball player he has played against. He also mentioned that LeBron James, being a legend, has played seven seasons more than MJ. Yet, King James was lagging behind Jordan in several aspects. Surely, this is not the first time Barkley has shown his inclination towards Jordan. Recently, a legendary comedian spilled the beans on the duo’s affinity for gambling.
Cedric The Entertainer Reveals Shocking Gambling Habit Of Charles Barkley And Michael Jordan
During their best friend era, Jordan and Barkley often visited several casinos. And the duo were notoriously famous for placing huge bets per hand. In a similar experience, legendary comedian Cedric the Entertainer unveiled exactly how much money the two NBA legends put on the line during gambling.
Appearing on the ‘All The Smoke’ podcast, Cedric the Entertainer explained how Barkley once placed a bet of $300k! “They’re doing like $300K a hand. I’m in there with my $100 chips, waiting till the next one,” said the comedian. Thus, with the friendship long gone, Charles Barkley’s respect for Michael Jordan showcases why he is known as the GOAT in the NBA.
