During a recent episode of his podcast, ‘The Draymond Green Show,’ Green criticized the Indiana Pacers for knocking out the New York Knicks in the conference semifinals of the playoffs. He said he would not apologize for referring to the Pacers as a regular-season team.
“Do you owe the Pacers an apology for calling them an 82-game team?’. And the answer is no. You got to take your hat off to the Indiana Pacers. I still personally think they’re an 82-game team. But I didn’t think the Knicks were real, so somebody had to get there… Now you get Boston.” Draymond Green said.
Draymond Green Voices His Opinion After Knicks’ Elimination
Green states that the Pacers played defensively against the Knicks, but the Boston Celtics are challenging to compete with. He mentioned that the Celtics will eliminate the Pacers in just five games of the Conference Finals series.
“They played well defensively versus New York. It’s a different animal. This is a totally different animal. I got Boston, no problem. It should be a gentleman’s sweep. So, no, there’s no apologies. They got to the Conference finals. Somebody has to get there. It’s the East. We get it. Somebody’s got to go. But congrats to them. That’s dope. I think this is going to be the end of the road for them.” Green added.
Green is always active when giving his opinion on games and debates. Recently, Green criticized Rudy Gobert after the Denver Nuggets’ game 5 defeat.
Draymond Green has been in the spotlight during the NBA playoffs since the Warriors were eliminated in the play-in tournament. Green has also shared his thoughts on various teams as an analyst for other shows and on his podcast, as he did with the Pacers. His outspoken and aggressive playing style has always made him controversial in the NBA. However, the backlash he’s receiving for his comments now outweighs that of his actions on the court.
