The entire basketball world was shocked last week when it was first revealed that Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka was facing disciplinary action for having an inappropriate relationship with a female Celtics staffer.
Shortly after, Udoka would be suspended by the Celtics organization for at least the upcoming season for multiple violations of team policies.
It was not only the general public that was surprised to hear the news.
On Monday, at their annual media day, Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown both spoke out about how they were also in shock and confused when they first heard about the scandalous story.

Last season was Udoka’s first as an NBA head coach and he led the Celtics to a 51-31 regular season record, good enough for the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Boston would make it all the way to the NBA Finals, before losing to the Golden State Warriors in six games.
It appeared as though Udoka was setup for a long, successful coaching tenure with the Celtics as they have a great nucleus of both young and veteran players. With the recent announcement of his suspension, it appears highly unlikely that Ime Udoka will be coaching again in the NBA anytime soon.
