Boston Celtics legend Jaylen Brown has already captured significant attention after clinching his unexpected MVP award for the Eastern Conference Finals. With the pressure mounting to solidify his legacy on the court, the Celtics star recently shared an amusing off-court activity that has surely endeared him even more to his fans.
In the ten-day gap between the Celtics’ Eastern Conference Finals victory and Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Brown revealed how he chose to spend his pre-Finals break during an interview on “Good Morning America.” Instead of engaging in typical pre-game rituals, Brown indulged in a more magical pastime.
“A lot of our guys probably spend time with their family and stuff like that, but I don’t have a family. I’m single. So I’ve been binge-watching Harry Potter,” Brown said.
This unconventional preparation seemed to pay off, as he delivered an outstanding performance in Game 1. The 22-year-old basketball player scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds, blocked three shots, and made three steals. He was even more efficient from the floor, shooting 7-of-12, including two three-pointers, and going 6-of-11 from the free-throw line.

“[Hermione is] also the one that just keeps everybody on track. She’s the one that gets stuff done. That’s me. Like, ‘We gotta get this done.’ I’m not waiting ‘til the last minute. You got an assignment? We gonna get it done first day. We not gonna wait ‘til the last minute.”
Just as Hermione ensures tasks are completed promptly, Brown embodies that same determination and leadership on the court.
This mentality was evident in the Celtics’ performance in Game 1 against the Dallas Mavericks. His sharp play and cohesive teamwork mirrored that game as the Celtics aimed for their first championship since 2008.
