With the NBA Finals just around the corner, the Boston Celtics are gearing up for the biggest games of the season against the Dallas Mavericks. Guard Derrick White recently shared his perspective on the Celtics’ journey to the finals, mentioning the significance of the opportunity before them.
“I think there’s a good balance. It’s an extreme blessing, you don’t want to take it for granted,” White said.
White later expressed his optimism about the Celtics’ performance. He also put forward the coaching staff’s role in keeping the team focused and motivated.
“Coaches have done a good job of focusing on what we need to focus on, and we’re out there just competing and trying to have that right mindset each and every day,” he added.
The Celtics’ quest for an NBA championship has been ongoing for 16 years since their last title victory. With memories of their defeat in the 2022 finals still fresh, the team is determined to seize the opportunity and bring home the trophy this season.

On Saturday morning, White and the Celtics coaching staff were caught on camera attempting a unique trick shot. For the past 15 minutes, they’ve been trying to kick a basketball into the hoop from the top of the key.
While their attempts may have been a bit rough, it’s clear that they’re having fun and keeping spirits high ahead of the finals. Even head coach Joe Mazzulla couldn’t resist poking a little fun at their efforts as he walked by.
Meanwhile, there was also some promising news to come out of practice. Kristaps Porzingis was a full participant in Saturday’s practice.
