Former NBA player Caron Butler recently shared an unforgettable memory of playing alongside the legendary Kobe Bryant. During his appearance on “The OGs Show,” Butler recounted a moment that described a game situation where the team was in a huddle, and the coach was busy drawing up a play.
“The time we were in Charlotte. Whoever our coach was at the time, he was drawing up the play. Kobe just, like, kind of, like, wiped the board real quick,” Butler said.
Kobe’s decisive action left everyone momentarily stunned. He took charge of the situation with an air of unshakable confidence.
“He was like, ‘Hey, who wants to be part of history? Like, you take the ball out. I’m going to get open right here. Throw it at me. Everybody run out the damn tunnel. Game stop. Just true story, dog.’ Nobody knew where to go on the court. Just like, ‘Hey, he’s going to catch it somewhere right here,’” Butler continued.
Butler vividly described how Kobe’s presence and command left no room for doubt among his teammates.
“Just get out of the way. Whoever wants to be part of history, throw me the ball. I’m going to be right here. And that’s what happened.”
