There are many hilarious stories and conspiracy theories surrounding the legendary musician Stevie Wonder. While there are numerous speculations about his eyesight, a recent experience shared by Carmelo Anthony had everybody laughing. The former Nuggets star recently appeared on the ‘7 PM in Brooklyn’ podcast along with the guest of the evening, Rudy Gay. He also had co-hosts Kazeem Famuyide and The Kid Mero with him.
Speaking on a variety of topics, Anthony stumbled upon the subject of meeting with Wonder for the first time. While narrating their initial exchange, the co-hosts broke off in laughter repeatedly, as Anthony found it hard to narrate the story. And finally, when he did go through it, what he said turned out to be hilarious.
Back in 2011, during the NBA All-Star game in Los Angeles, Stevie Wonder was allowed to meet and greet the players in the locker room. As Wonder went around meeting the players, the musician shook Anthony’s hand and stated, “I love watching you play.” While this might not seem like a hilarious statement, the fact of the matter is that Stevie Wonder does not have eyesight.
Jokes apart, Wonder is one of the legendary musicians of modern times. He has 25 Grammys, and is part of several prestigious Hall Of Fames. Infact, Wonder also received the President Medal of Freedom back in 2014. Meanwhile, this was not the only funny story doing the rounds regarding Stevie Wonder.
Shaquille O’Neal Believes Stevie Wonder Can See
Shaquille O’Neal has been one of the funniest characters on and off the field. However, he had an even funnier story to narrate in an episode of Jimmy Falon’s show back in 2022. Speaking about running into Wonder, Shaq stated that once, both of them lived in the same building at Wilshire Boulevard. However, one day, an unexpected incident took place that shook Shaq’s belief that Stevie Wonder did not have eyesight.
Narrating the hilarious story, O’Neal mentioned, “I am coming to the first floor that day, so it goes down first. Stevie got in, I’m standing in the corner and saying nothing. He looks at me and says, ‘what up, big diesel?’ He turned his head, hit his button, and got off.” This interaction made O’Neal believe that the legendary musician can actually see.
