Devin Booker and Kevin Durant don’t seem phased by the Phoenix Suns’ 2-0 disadvantage against the powerful Minnesota Timberwolves, who defended their home court on Tuesday night.
After the dismal 105-93 loss, questions were raised about the two outstanding Suns players’ prospects for game three at home in Arizona. Booker answered back: “Don’t count us out. It’s a series for a reason. I don’t think any road team’s won so far. I know that doesn’t have anything to do with us, but it’s just the situation that it is.”
Additionally, Kevin Durant offered his advice about returning home: “Can’t give up on us right now! Sh*t, need it more than anything. I know it’s been a disappointing last couple games, even the season for our fans, but we need you more than ever now coming back home for Game 3.”
Durant, 35, could not duplicate his incredible effort from Game 1, in which he scored 31 points and pulled seven rebounds, according to the NBA website. He only scored eighteen points in Game 2. The Suns had trouble, with Booker leading the group with 20 points.
Kevin Durant and Co. Need to Step Up in Game 3
Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker are shooting a combined 18-for-45. McDaniels has become one of the leading causes of this shooting slump. Having taken an eight-point lead in the second quarter and trailing 51-50 at the half, the Suns appeared worn out as Towns settled into his game following early foul trouble.
Edwards’ scoring prowess was a major factor in the Wolves’ decisive 25-point victory in Game 1 on Saturday. The Suns knew he posed a threat, so they routinely sent several defenders to press him and break his rhythm.
