This season’s NBA trades have generated a lot of buzz within the basketball community. Fans have witnessed some of the most surprising trades in league history. One player who’s been at the center of all this trade chatter is Brooklyn Nets star Cam Johnson.
Johnson was in the spotlight, drawing attention from teams such as the Sacramento Kings, Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers, and Memphis Grizzlies. However, those teams were confronted with a high asking price. Consequently, Johnson stayed with the Brooklyn Nets as the trade deadline arrived on February 6, 2025. Following the deadline, he finally addressed the swirling trade rumors.
“Every three days, somebody is coming to me with something completely different. I didn’t wanna give my energy to any of those situations because you’re just setting yourself up for whatever. So, it was a completely different experience for me. I think that the rumors have been moving quickly since Mikal [Bridges] got traded. And maybe even before or around then,” Johnson said to NBA Insider Michael Scotto.

Cam Johnson’s Take On Trade Discussions
In a recent game against the Miami Heat, Johnson led his team with 18 points, three assists, and six rebounds. His performance and D’Angelo Russell’s 17 points contributed to the Nets’ 102-86 victory over the Heat. In an interview with Michael Scotto, he reflected on his experiences during the trade discussions.
“Every time my agent called me over the summer, it was like, is something going down? I don’t know. It’s kinda been like that for a long time, and you kinda just deal with it. Straight up. It is what it is. It ain’t going nowhere. Except now, at least there’s gonna be a little cushion where it’s gonna calm down, and then, who knows? Maybe it picks up again,” Johnson said.
