If the Detroit Pistons fans are in doubt, they must dial into Cade Cunningham. The young guard is shining left, right, and center, and he even endorses himself. The Pistons’ promising star recently took the stage to call out fans to tune in to his games.
During a recent appearance on TNT’s Tuesday night NBA broadcast, Cunningham humorously encouraged fans to give Detroit a shot via NBA League Pass. He was making a compelling case for why they should give his team a second look. Despite a strong season where the Pistons have surged to a respectable 22-21 record after a significant win against the Houston Rockets, public perception still lags behind. The team has endured years of struggles, and Cunningham knows that changing hearts and minds takes a bit of work.
“Maybe they haven’t watched us play. If you do get the opportunity, get [NBA] League Pass, check us out and I think I could audition for you there. More than anything, I think my team is playing at a high level. We’re winning games, we’re competing for the playoffs. And that’s what everybody wanted from the Pistons this year,” Cunningham said during his appearance.

However, it was obvious that he wanted to turn fans to his games. The Texas-born star has been putting out great performances lately. In January alone, Cunningham has led the Pistons to an impressive 8-3 record. He averages 24.5 points, 9.4 assists, and 6.5 rebounds. And much to that, the stellar performance has made him a strong candidate for his first All-Star selection.
Cade Cunningham acknowledged his Rivalry With Jalen Green
Things changed really fast during the discussion. After Cunningham was done endorsing himself, another question followed regarding Jalen Green. He opened up about his long-standing rivalry with Green, a fellow highly-rated prospect from their high school days. After leading the Pistons to a 107-96 victory over Green’s Houston Rockets, Cunningham acknowledged their relationship.

“I think it’s just exactly that – we want to compete against each other. They’ve always put us up against each other since high school, as far as who is better. I think we both enjoy being able to face each other and see who’s the best. I don’t think we need any of that (handshakes). We both know what it is,” Cunningham said.

With Cunningham shining through the win by scoring 32 points, he made it clear that the rivalry is as alive as ever. While Cunningham has made his place as a rising superstar in the league this season, Green is still finding his path to becoming a consistent No. 1 option.
