While tonight’s Game 4 battle between the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics will feature plenty of big-name stars on the court, most of the talk has been surrounding one key player who won’t be on the floor at the Barclays Center.
That player, of course, is Ben Simmons. After supposedly being ready to return for tonight’s contest, it was reported on Sunday that Simmons had woken up with back pain and will sit out once again with his team trailing the series 3-0 and in desperate need of a win.
Many analysts have since called out Simmons. Stephen A. Smith has been one of the most vocal critics of the former number one pick, calling him “pathetic” and a “quitter.”
You’d have to imagine that Simmons’ teammates are also disappointed in this latest turn of events.
As for Ben’s coach, Steve Nash, he was asked about his guard’s lack of availability for tonight’s big game. And let’s just say that his answer sums up what most people think/expect of Simmons these days.

When your coach says he never really expected you to play, even after you had initially claimed you were ready to go, it just goes to show how little faith there is in Simmons around the league these days.
The Nets clearly can’t depend on Simmons for anything at the moment, and their head coach appears to be well aware of that fact.
