Interest surrounding Bronny James’ NBA Draft has been on an upward spiral since his announcement. With the ever-growing scrutiny of LeBron James’ son’s potential to make it into the NBA, Bronny impressed a lot of critics during the Draft Combine despite being billed only at 6’1″.
But that doesn’t bother Bronny, as he has a clear picture of how he plays and what he wants to be in which he takes pride. During a recent episode of “The Deep 3” podcast, NBA prospects like Alex Sarr and Zach Edey were interviewed about their game and thoughts.
Bronny also joined the show as a guest and made a rather curious case to allay the fears over his height. “Defense has always been something that I take pride in. Yeah, guarding bigger positions I feel like was something I surprised myself with especially being an undersized two-guard. Yeah, I took pride in being efficient on the defensive end,” said the USC guard.
He garnered a lot of praise from his legendary father for his composure in dealing with media pressure and this was another example of the 19-year-old’s maturity. Naming essential squad players as his model examples, Bronny made the point that it’s not about being the best but is only about being a contributor to a winning team.
This mindset at a tender age can also impress the onlookers, including GMs and scouts of multiple franchises, but if they have a two-way contract in mind for Bronny, they just might have to forget about landing him.
Bronny James Won’t Sign Two-Way Contract
The Lakers have a keen interest in landing the son of their star forward to ensure his loyalty to the franchise amid a tumultuous situation. LeBron’s agent, Rich Paul, is the man holding the key to unpick a lot of secrets about his client’s future and that of Bronny. In a recent interview with Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, Paul said, “Yes, that’s absolutely true. Teams know that. I’m not doing that,” when asked if Bronny will sign a two-way contract.

He further added, “If it aligns where he can play with his dad, great. Am I necessarily focused on that? No, not at all. I’m focused on a team-plan investment and a seriousness as it pertains to fit and opportunity.”
The Suns are also in contention to use their draft pick to land Bronny and have a trial set up for next week. Will LeBron follow his son to team up with Kevin Durant? Don’t be shocked if that happens, as they’ll have a lot of time to discuss in person during their national team duty in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
