It’s only a matter of time before Michael Jordan is no longer an owner of the Charlotte Hornets, but the team still seems very interested in his thoughts on the franchise’s direction going forward.
That was quite evident during the NBA Draft on Thursday night, as the Hornets took Alabama star Brandon Miller second-overall over the man that many believe has a far greater upside, G League superstar Scoot Henderson.
And according to sources, Jordan played a large part in that decision, as his “positive” second meeting with Miller was one of the deciding factors in Charlotte taking the wing scorer over Henderson.
While the Hornets brass may feel great about their decision, the Charlotte fans clearly aren’t on board with it.
During the team’s draft party last night, Brandon Miller was reportedly booed several times when he appeared on the television screen before having his name called by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.
And once Miller’s name was called as the second-overall pick, Charlotte fans erupted in a volcano of boos.

The Hornets draft party wasn’t the only place were Hornets fans were letting Michael Jordan and the rest of the team’s front office hear it.
Many also took to social media to voice their displeasure with the pick.
The fans apparently aren’t the only ones who feel this way about the pick, as many executives around the league also reportedly see Scoot Henderson as the “bigger talent.”
Some might argue that it’s hard to doubt the GOAT… but then you look at what he’s done since joining the Hornets, and you can’t help but think that maybe, just maybe, Michael Jordan shouldn’t be making these player personnel decisions anymore.
Did he get this one right? Or will the Brandon Miller selection be one final blow to MJ’s ownership tenure with the Hornets? Only time will tell.
