Brandin Podziemski found himself in the spotlight again. After the Golden State Warriors secured a much-needed victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves, head coach Steve Kerr took notes. He suggested that young players should learn to pass the ball to star player Steph Curry instead of taking challenging shots.
In the aftermath of Kerr’s statements, Podziemski took a moment to reflect on the feedback and asserted his understanding of the game and his respect for Curry.
“I don’t really think. I just play. When I’m out there and I’m open, I shoot it. If not, I make a play. I don’t really look too much into. I know we have Steph Curry on the court and if he’s open, I’m going to throw the ball to him, I don’t really look too deep into those messages,” Podziemski earlier said.

However, this did not age well. Once his comments started spreading and the news developed around them, Pod’s straightforward response came out as something else. It did not take him too much time to realize that things were going all the way south.
So Podziemski took the time to social media to clarify his thoughts on the matter. He reasserted what he meant when saying he does not look at Curry when he has the ball.
“To clarify and for further context… Steph is Steph and I’ve been very open with my respect for him on and off the court. He’s a legend and a 🐐 for a reason. On the court you have to be cautious against over thinking every possession. You have to trust your work, do what the coaches want you to do, and make a good IQ play. At times that’s a pass, taking shot, or even making a good screen to free up a teammate,” Brandin clarified.

Brandin Podziemski Was Earlier Misunderstood By Referees
Things were not going good for the Warriors’ young star. During the same Wolves game, Podziemski initially found himself at the center of controversy. He received a technical foul for attempting to alert the referees of a potential hazard on the court. The incident occurred late in the third quarter when Podziemski noticed a spilled drink that posed a risk for players.

As the game unfolded with both teams in a tight contest, he animatedly conveyed his concerns to the officiating crew. Unfortunately, his passionate appeal did not sit well with referee Sean Corbin, who interpreted Podziemski’s fervor as disrespectful conduct and issued a technical foul. This decision drew sharp reactions from the crowd and it even ignited a wave of online outrage.
Fortunately for the Warriors, the situation took a turn when the technical foul was rescinded after the officials recognized the intent behind Podziemski’s outburst. Despite the earlier drama, the Warriors went on to secure a 113-103 victory led by Curry.
