The Boston Celtics took on the Indiana Pacers at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday in front of a star-studded crowd that had William Drayton Jr., aka Flavor Flav, in the house. Apart from Jrue Holiday’s highlight-worthy moment in the game, what grabbed the spotlight was his interaction with the star rapper.
Before the game, when Flavor Flav was spotted clicking pictures with fans at the courtside, Holiday went over to greet the hip-hopper. On seeing the Celtics guard, the ‘hype man’ hugged him, and the two exchanged a couple of words. The player even handed Flav his jersey after the win.
Flavor Flav was present to cheer for the Pacers, but unfortunately, the team failed to impress the crowd even on their third attempt in the Eastern Conference Finals series. After losing the first two games on the road, the Indiana franchise welcomed the Cs to their home arena to have a tough fight.
After a heated encounter in game 2, the Pacers looked like the stronger side in game 3 by grabbing a 12-point lead in the first half. However, the Boston squad came back stronger in the final quarter. They not only chased the target set by Indiana but also took the lead, thanks to Jrue Holiday and Co., and snatched a 114-111 win.
Jrue Holiday’s Late Flurry Helps Celtics
The Celtics showcased teamwork in Game 3 to bring down the Pacers and establish complete dominance over them in the series. A turning point in the game was Jrue Holiday’s crucial steal that stole the show.
With less than 5 seconds remaining in the game, the 2-time All-Star nabbed a steal from opponent Andrew Nembhard, which gave the top-seeded Eastern team the opportunity to secure the narrow win from a 112-111 scoreline.

Jayson Tatum scored a game-high 36 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and distributed 8 assists, missing the triple-double by an inch. His teammate Jaylen Brown couldn’t drop another 40 points but chipped in 24 in the win. The veterans, Holiday and AI Horford, stepped up to add 14 and 23 points respectively for the Celtics.
On the flip side, Nembhard put up a 32-4-9 stat line and T.J. McConnell a 23-9-6 while Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner helped with 22 points each, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Celtics. Now the Pacers will have to hold back the Cs in the following game on Monday or else the Boston franchise will qualify for the championship finals.
