Jrue Holiday received many compliments from teammate Jaylen Brown for leading the Boston Celtics to their second victory in the NBA Finals series against the Dallas Mavericks.
After securing a 105-98 win on Sunday, Brown told the reporters in the post-game press conference, “Jrue has just been an example of excellence. His role has been different from what it was with his last few years [with the Bucks]. He’s being able to adapt… He’s just a hell of a [player and a person].”
Playing for 41 minutes in the game, the Celtics guard showed off his shooting skills by hitting 11-of-14 shots from the field and 2-of-4 from downtown. Holiday finished the night with a double-double contribution of 26 points and 11 rebounds, the highest numbers from the Cs.
Giving credit to his teammates for his stellar performance, the former Bucks guard humbly stated, “I think it’s more so JT and JB. Especially tonight, JT was getting to the paint and being double-teamed and making the right plays out of it. Just finding me either being the dunker or being in the corner. He has that vision as a play-maker. I would give that to them.”
Though Jrue praised Brown for his massive involvement in the game, what works for the Celtics swingman is the criticism he receives.

Talking to FOX Sports before Game 2, Brown stated, “Getting moved to the bench, even trade talks, getting booed, whatever the fans were saying, overpaid, overrated. All of that stuff made me who I am today. It drove my work ethic. And it drove my demeanor.”
Brown is enjoying a phenomenal post-season run and has been recognized for his input. He added 21 points, four rebounds, and seven assists in Sunday’s win. However, the 3-time All-Star will prepare to visit the American Airlines Center with the Celtics for Wednesday’s Game 3.
