Jaylen Brown has grabbed the spotlight many times this season, either with his performance or the pep talks to his Boston Celtics teammates that kept them motivated on the journey. However, even after pulling the team to the top seed of the Eastern table with a 64-18 record and dropping masterclasses in the playoffs, JB couldn’t find a spot in the All-NBA team, which surprised his teammate, Derrick White.
Following Brown’s massive 40-point performance in Game 2 of the Conference Finals series against the Indiana Pacers, White was asked in a post-game interview whether or not Brown had some extra motivation as he didn’t get included in the All-NBA team. The former Spurs guard answered, “He’s unreal, he 100 percent got snubbed. He’s been big-time for us all year on both sides of the court. Big-time snub — I don’t get it.”
Brown performed phenomenally alongside Jayson Tatum for 70 regular-season games, averaging 23 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. As the team entered the post-season tournament, his numbers went up to 24.8 PPG, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.
White also felt that Brown was good enough to be considered for the NBA All-Defense, but he also missed that. Though White seemed unhappy with the voters’ decision not to vote for the forward, Brown wasn’t bothered by it.
Jaylen Brown Doesn’t “Give a F**k” About All-NBA
Despite all his efforts throughout the season, Jaylen Brown’s failure to make the All-NBA team became the talk of the town on Thursday. During the post-game conference, the three-time All-Star finally broke his silence to make his priorities known.
Regarding the matter, Brown said, “I mean, we’re two games from the Finals, so I don’t have the time to give a f**k.” With this, he made his intentions clear that all he wants to bag is the championship trophy, and he is moving forward with that in mind.
