Delonte West was arrested on Oct. 19 after officers say he was yelling and banging on a local police station’s doors.
Body cam footage has since been ontained showing the former NBA player going on a rant where he uses several slurs and claims to be better than LeBron James at the game of basketball.
“Nigga, I was better than LeBron James. I’m better than [Michael] Jordan,” West said. “I was the best nigga to play every sport. Shut the fuck up!”
Officers said that West was holding two open containers of alcohol and appeared to be drunk. West has battled substance abuse issues in the past and it appears he has relapsed badly, despite owner Mark Cuban trying to help him out.
Overall, it is a very sad situation and we hope West is able to get some help following the incident. He is now set to go to court next month.
