The Suns’ last three games have seen them play some of their finest basketball this season. Despite their recent success, head coach Frank Vogel encourages his players to continue to improve to qualify for the playoffs. Suns’ recent success is largely due to defensive improvements made throughout the season.
After the current win, Suns head coach Frank Vogel remained humble. After the Suns’ victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, Vogel thinks the best is still to come. During an interview, Vogel said that the Suns will play dominantly in upcoming games.
“Communication is one of the habits we’re on our guys all the time about talking more, calling out coverages, just talking to each other. ‘I got the ball.’ I got a screen coming this way. ‘Help left, help right.’ ‘I’m the low man.’ All those things just strengthen the guys around you knowing what’s around. If they’re on the ball, if they’re on the weak side, communication helps everything. We want to play our best basketball come playoff time. Right now, we have to just focus on the next game. We’ve played three good games. And we want to continue to strive for greatness. We’re far from perfect. So, we gotta keep trying to get better.” Vogel said during the interview.
Frank Vogel has appreciated his team’s performance
With the regular season coming to a close and the playoffs on the line, it’s difficult to deny how the Suns have increased their defense, even if this current performance is surely just one example.
Given that Suns has one of the most difficult schedules to finish the season, many analysts were afraid that the team would drop in the West rankings.
However, they have shown that the pressure has only driven Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and the rest of the squad to improve their play in preparation for the playoffs. The Suns have five games remaining, all of which are against Western Conference playoff opponents.
