The Ben Simmons trade rumors are heating up like crazy, but the young star wants to make sure his current team does not send him to two specific places.
According to Jason Dumas of Bleacher Report, Simmons’ relationship with the Sixers is “beyond repair.” When he does move on from the team, he does not want to get traded to the Portland Trail Blazers or Toronto Raptors. He’d rather play for one of the California teams.
“It’s kind of a marriage that’s beyond repair at this point, Dumas said on 95.7 The Game this week. “Like anyone who’s gonna get traded, especially a young quote-on-quote All-Star like Ben, he doesn’t want to go to a bad situation. He’s reading the tea leaves like everyone else. He sees Toronto. He sees Portland. … He’s not really trying to go to any of those situations. He’s open to the California teams is what I’ve been told.”
Per Dumas, Simmons has stopped speaking with “basically everyone in the Sixers organization.” The team’s only line of communication with Simmons is said to be through his agent, Rich Paul.
His relationship with the team has soured since the team got bounced against the Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs.

“We lost, it sucks, I am who I am, it is what it is, it’s not easy to win…first thing I’m going to do is clear my mind and get my mental right,” Simmons said following the loss.
