During his first 2 seasons in the NBA, Ben Simmons has refused to take 3-point shots and has been highly criticized because of it.
Well, the former first overall pick has every reason to do so since he agreed to a max contract extension with the Philadelphia 76ers that will pay him $170 million over five years during the offseason.
On Monday, reporters asked Simmons about his 3-point shooting and Simmons, who has been working on his outside shooting this summer, and he had just one thing to say.
“I mean, it’s part of the game,” Simmons said. “If it’s open, I’ll take it.”
If Simmons can start taking 3-point shots and knock them down at a good percentage, it can spread the floor even more for a 76ers team that many has going to the NBA Finals in the upcoming season.
