Ben Simmons has officially joined the Los Angeles Clippers after finalizing a buyout with the Brooklyn Nets. Despite his struggles in Brooklyn, Simmons remains confident in his abilities and sees the Clippers as the perfect fit for his next chapter.
During his introductory press conference on Monday, Simmons expressed optimism about his new team and explained why he chose the Clippers. He openly shared how head coach Ty Lue and the organization made it clear what they expect from him and how he can contribute.
“I think just speaking to Ty Lue, everyone was just very transparent. They know what I’m capable of and what they expect from me. I think it’s easier when teams are transparent and understand what you are, what you need, how they can help, and how I can help them. So for me, I feel comfortable,” Simmons said.

Simmons joined Brooklyn after the 76ers traded him to the Nets in exchange for James Harden during the 2022 NBA trade deadline. However, his tenure in Brooklyn was marred by health issues. Over two and a half seasons, he played in only 90 games, averaging 6.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game.
