On Thursday night, the Indiana Pacers convincingly pulled down the curtains of the series against the Bucks, ensuring round two participation. The Indiana side’s 120-98 win over the Bucks was nothing short of a thorough whipping, and Tyrese Haliburton claims that a Bucks player even acknowledged it.
After the game, Haliburton talked to the media about the match and was asked what Patrick Beverley said to him when he approached the Pacers bench. Haliburton revealed, “He said, ‘Good series. Belt to a**.'”
Patrick Beverley, after the game, was critical of Haliburton’s performance, downplaying the 24-year-old’s 10 assists in the game. Haliburton fired back by saying, “Con man. Flip from above the rim,” which is the same thing that Damian Lillard told Beverly before their time together in Milwaukee.
Tyrese Haliburton’s Performance in Series Against Bucks
Haliburton played all six games against the Milwaukee franchise in the first round of the playoffs. In game 1, he struggled in the 109-94 loss and only managed to get 9 points on the board along with 7 rebounds and 8 assists.
The Pacers turned the tide in the next game, but Haliburton was far from impressive, only scoring 12 points in the 125-108 win. From the third game of the series, Haliburton found his regular season rhythm and recorded a triple-double of 18-10-16 stat line. His three-point shooting has been a concerning area of his game and that trend continued in all the games of the series. His 24 points in the game was his maximum for the series, which was followed by 16 and 17 in the next two games.

Despite overcoming the Bucks, the Pacers and Haliburton will both expect a significant improvement to his current form as they’ll be needing their best versions to beat the Knicks in round 2 of the playoffs.
