An old video featuring NBA analyst Colin Cowherd ridiculing Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo has resurfaced on the internet. The video soon reached every corner of the NBA social media circles and caught the attention of the star who reacted to it.
Tagging Adebayo to the post, an NBA fan shared the vintage clip which belongs to the 2018-2019 season. Upon watching the clip, the Miami center reposted the video with a clown emoji.
The video involves a conversation between Cowherd and his co-host discussing the potential trade of Jimmy Butler. The hostess informed that the Timberwolves were interested in acquiring Bam Adebayo, Josh Richardson along with a 2019 first-round pick in return for their All-Star forward Butler. However, the deal didn’t strike as it was too costly for Miami.
Refusing to recognize young Adebayo, the analyst said, “Jimmy Butler is gonna give you 23 a game and I get Bam!” He further added, “I didn’t even know who Bam was!”
It was not completely Cowherd’s fault, as Adebayo was in his early season and didn’t have the impact on the team that he has today.
Luckily, the trade did happen afterward, but the Kentucky graduate didn’t have to leave the franchise for it. Instead, Butler came to the Heat from the Philadelphia 76ers and formed a strong bond with Adebayo. The duo can still enjoy their time in Miami if Butler decides to stay, as big things could be in line for the center.

Bam Adebayo Reportedly Set for New Contract
Bam Adebayo started his NBA journey holding the hands of the Miami Heat and is still going strong after 7 years. With Jimmy Butler’s chapter is currently on hold, the franchise has reportedly expressed their desire to extend the deal with the 26-year-old.
According to Miami Herald’s Anthony Chiang, “As a foundational piece for the Heat who is still a few years away from turning 30, the expectation is that Adebayo will receive a lucrative extension from the organization this offseason to keep him in Miami for years to come.”
The 3-time All-Star already has two years left on his contract, but the Heat are planning for long-term success. His extension is dependent on his selection to the All-NBA team.
Bam Adebayo averaged 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game this regular season. He even stepped up in the playoffs with 22.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, but the Heat could go past the NBA champion Celtics in the first round.
