Austin Reaves has broken his silence on the rumors claiming he’s been dating world-famous singer Taylor Swift.
Reaves broke out as a high-trajectory star for the Los Angeles Lakers last season, entering the rotation as a role player before establishing himself as a formidable force in the team’s offense.
The guard would find himself in the Lakers’ starting lineup, with first-year head coach Darvin Ham trusting him enough to give him a more important role as the season wore on. His emergence as a reliable piece resulted in the 2020 NBA Champions reaching the Western Conference Finals before bowing out to eventual champs, the Denver Nuggets.
Reaves catapulted to fame on the back of his form; so much so, he’s being linked to Swift. That’s just how things work when you’re a star who wears the Purple and Gold. However, the player has rubbished the claims.
Speaking to hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on their ‘All The Smoke’ podcast, Reaves revealed that he’s never even met Taylor.
“I have never met her, never talked to her,” the 25-year-old said. “All BS.”

The rumor stating Reaves and Swift are an item is believed to have been started by a parody Twitter account. As dating rumors tend to do, it spread virally after the singer went through a breakup with Joe Alwyn.
So far, Reaves seems to be focused on playing basketball amid all the temptations L.A. has to offer.
