Austin Reaves has been quite a find for the Lakers this season. Having contributed significantly to the Lakers’ 3 back-to-back victories, Reaves has been highly praised by fans and critics alike. Unfortunately, the Lakers’ honeymoon did come to a stop when they lost to the Phoenix Suns recently. However, with a solid preseason giving the players confidence, Reaves has heaped praises on the Lakers’ coach.
Speaking recently with the media, Austin Reaves was asked about their recent stumble. While the 26-year-old mentioned that improvement needs to be inflicted right away, he was also highly impressed by JJ Redick.
Opining about his passion, Reaves stated, “His passion is on another level… You can tell every single second of every day that he’s locked into the betterment of our group.”
Surely, there are ample reasons for Reaves to be impressed with Redick. After all, making his debut as the Lakers’ coach this season, Redick has been phenomenal. On the other hand, the coach, too, has had some special words for the 26-year-old.
Reaves has averaged 19.2 points with 7 rebounds and 5.2 assists so far this season. Heavily impressed by the performance, Redick expressed his surprise at Reaves’ exceptional skill set. The Lakers’ coach said, “I knew he was good. I didn’t realize he was this good.” Thus, it is quite evident that despite the loss, the atmosphere in the Lakers’ locker room is quite upbeat. Recently, the 26-year-old made an interesting claim about the best player of the LA Lakers.

“He’s been doing this. It’s not abnormal for him to do what he’s doing. I feel like he’s the best player on our team. And he’s such a high-level talent that I expect him to go out every single night and be dominant,” the 26-year-old said.
Well, Reaves has every right to go gaga about Davis. The 31-year-old has emerged as a superstar for the Lakers this season. After four games, Davis has averaged 32.8 points with 3.2 assists and 12 rebounds to his name. Thus, with things looking bright, the Lakers are looking to bounce back immediately after their minor setback.
