Since being drafted into the NBA, Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards have spent their entire careers with the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, the recent offseason saw a major change as Towns was traded to the New York Knicks. In exchange, the Timberwolves received Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and a protected first-round pick in 2025.
Their first encounter since the trade happened during a preseason game on Sunday, where the Wolves faced off against the Knicks. After the game, Towns and Edwards took the time to share some heartfelt moments and even swapped jerseys.
During this memorable exchange, a fan shouted a suggestion that Edwards might follow Towns to New York once his contract with the Timberwolves expires.
“Ant, once that contract in Minnesota is up, New York baby, New York,” the fan said.
The Timberwolves star didn’t hesitate to respond to the fan. Edwards passionately expressed his desire to reunite with his former teammate.
“I’d definitely love to be reunited with KAT,” Edwards said.
