Anthony Edwards has been integral to the Minnesota Timberwolves’ success in recent years. The 23-year-old star has displayed fantastic talent on the court, leading the Timberwolves to the conference semifinals while eliminating the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2023-24 NBA playoffs.
However, Edwards, whom Stephen Curry recently pranked, was less dominant on the court in the semifinals and finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics when it came to Team USA’s success. Meanwhile, Edwards shared some exciting information about other players on the team’s roster during a recent appearance on Fanatic Fest. The ‘Ant-Man’ revealed that Kevin Durant was the person behind all the Drake songs in Team USA’s playlist.
“Man, KD only wanna listen to Drake. I was with him the whole time, so I was listening to nobody but Drake.” Edwards said to Jalen Rose at the Fanatic Fest.
The Timberwolves star noted that Durant is a big fan of Drake’s music and exclusively listens to his songs. Although Edwards played alongside Durant on Team USA, he also outperformed Durant in the recent NBA season series.
Edwards Reflects on Regrets Over Durant’s Elimination in Last NBA Season
In the first round of the 2023-2 NBA playoffs, the Timberwolves faced off against the Phoenix Suns. Edwards dominated the series against Durant, and the Timberwolves eliminated the Suns. However, during a recent interview at Fanatic Fest, the Timberwolves guard expressed regret about eliminating Durant in the last NBA season.
“I’m not gonna lie, I felt bad a little bit, only because he’s my favorite player of all-time. I didn’t wanna send him home like that.” Edwards said.

Edwards stated that he did not want to eliminate Durant from the league in that way because Durant is his all-time favorite player. After eliminating the Durant-led Suns, the 2024 Olympic gold winner delivered some stellar performances.
According to StatMuse, Edwards averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 79 games in the 2023-24 season. He was selected to play in his second All-Star game. It will be exciting to see where Edwards can take his team in the upcoming NBA season.
