Staying fit is a top priority for Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis, who has dealt with health issues in recent years. However, last season was a turning point for Davis, as he played 76 games, set career highs in rebounds, and came close to matching his best field goal percentage.
As Davis looks ahead to the new season, he is determined to maintain and improve his performance. Speaking to reporters, he outlined his goals for the year, focusing on improving himself to help the Lakers succeed.
“Being aggressive every time down the court, being dominant every game. Doing my job, doing my part in helping this team do what we gotta do. Being a team leader, carrying us in games, playoffs, whatever it takes. We can’t rely heavily on our games,” Davis said.
“Obviously it’s a team effort in what we’re trying to build, but for me personally, just talking it upon myself to make sure that I’m even better than I was last year,” he added.
Anthony Davis Emphasizes the Importance of Three-Point Shooting for Lakers’ Success
Anthony Davis’ ability to hit three-pointers will be crucial for the Los Angeles Lakers to succeed this season. Speaking to reporters, Davis discussed how head coach JJ Redick has encouraged him to shoot more from beyond the arc during the preseason games.
“I shoot a lot of them in practice. At the end of one practice, he [JJ Redick] was in front of the group. He said you shoot them in practice, but we need you to shoot them in the games. After I shot nine in Phoenix, he said it again,” Davis said.
