The Los Angeles Lakers just cannot seem to get out of the rabbit hole. Despite trying to fight back multiple times in the season, the team has repeatedly slumped to the jaws of defeat. The recent addition to their somber story is a 97-87 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Analyzing the loss, Anthony Davis recently doubled down on what exactly went wrong.
“I think we did enough defensively, just didn’t do enough offensively. Turnovers played a big factor… It’s tough to win a basketball game when you have 22 turnovers,” Davis stated while trying to discover the flaws. This is quite bizarre, as all these days, the offense of the purple and gold bridge has remained on top.

In fact, the Los Angeles-based side has won just 3 of its last 11 games. From 3-0 up at the beginning of the season to 13 wins and 12 losses at the moment, the Lakers really need a boost. Otherwise, they will be languishing and fighting dearly for a place in the playoffs. Meanwhile, to further highlight the Lakers’ sorry state, a Western Conference scout had a negative opinion to offer.
NBA Scout Cites Reason For Lakers’ Failure
A Western Conference scout recently stated that the Los Angeles Lakers will not be able to enjoy a championship run this season. A significant reason for the same was the fact that Austin Reaves is the Lakers’ third best player. “If he’s [Austin Reaves] your third-best player, you’re not a championship contender, you’re just not,” opined the scout via ESPN’s David McMenamin.

He implied that the Lakers lacked depth in their squad significantly. Apart from Reaves, the Lakers’ only best bets are the aging Anthony Davis and LeBron James. Thus, with tensions brewing with the Lakers, how well they can make a comeback remains to be seen.
