Last season, there was serious buzz about the possibility of LeBron James’ trade from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Golden State Warriors. However, James’ agent, Rich Paul, quickly shut down the potential trade. Paul urged both teams to abandon the idea, hoping to protect James from the backlash that could arise from switching teams again.
Recently, LeBron’s teammate Anthony Davis weighed in on the trade rumors during an interview with ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. While the trade talks were brief, they still felt unusual to Davis.
“I wasn’t on social media at the time. I heard about it, I can’t remember how I heard about it, but I don’t think it affected anybody. That was the first time ever he was in trade talks in his career. He’s seen everything, so I don’t think that affected our team,” Davis said.
“But that was definitely strange to hear. In a sense of like, it was the first time he’d ever been talked about in a trade before,” he added.
