Former NBA player Rasheed Wallace has made it his habit to provide irregular takes on everything related to the NBA. One such take made the headlines with his recent comments stating that his Detroit Pistons team of 2004 was superior to the championship-winning team of the Golden State Warriors of 2017. However, the former Warriors swingman Andre Iguodala, doesn’t agree with Wallace.
During the recent episode of “Sheed & Tyler” podcast, the former Pistons’ ace claimed, “We would’ve beat the sh*t out of [the 2017 Warriors] because for the simple fact that they couldn’t match up with us at any position… Steph [Curry] not a defender… Draymond [Green] is too little.”
Iguodala responded to Wallace’s remark, “Would we have won? Yes. But [the 2004 Pistons] probably would give us the most problems of any team.” The 40-year-old bagged all four championship trophies, thanks to the mighty Warriors who were at their absolute peak, especially in 2017.
The 2004 Pistons were undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with as they defeated the Kobe and Shaq-led Lakers in a 4-1 Finals series. However, beating the 2017 Warriors was no cakewalk. While the Pistons had immense strength on the defensive end, the Warriors were superior on the offensive end.
When the Pistons upset the Lakers, the LA side was on the verge of a fallout due to the Black Mamba and O’Neil’s feud, but the Warriors were holding up strong with a 16-1 record in the 2017 playoffs.
Iguodala was not the only one to respectfully disagree with Wallace; the vociferous Draymond Green also expressed his opinion on the matter.

Draymond Green Puts Rasheed Wallace on Blast Over Pistons Claim
Draymond Green would not stay mum after hearing such statements about his team. The 34-year-old lashed out at Rasheed Wallace, reminding him of the Warriors’ point production and pace.
The Warriors veteran wrote on his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, “Sheed we would’ve smacked yall. Yall was scoring 72 points per game. That’s not winning a half. And we putting you and them big ass forces in every pick and roll. Let’s see you move them feet. That one ring was great though big bro. We all appreciated it!”
The Warriors had a great run under their Big 3, Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson, winning four championships along the way, but they might soon lose their third piece in the summer trade.
