Angel Reese, the Chicago Sky’s standout player, continues to amaze her fans by making great achievements in her debut season. In a recent game against the Las Vegas Aces, the 22-year-old, who was recently roasted by WNBA fans, gave a dominating performance by scoring 11 points, recording one assist, and grabbing an impressive 22 rebounds. ESPN later praised Reese’s performance, but Philadelphia 76ers Center Andre Drummond did not agree with ESPN’s claims.
The game against the Aces was the third consecutive game in which Reese scored 20+ rebounds. After the Sky forward’s impressive performance, ESPN posted about her achievement and claimed that only Reese and former NBA player Ben Wallace have grabbed 20+ rebounds in a row in the last 50 years. However, this information was found to be false, and Drummond and fans criticized ESPN SportsCenter.
“Angel Reese is one of just two players in the WNBA & NBA in the last 50 years to grab 20+ REB three games in a row. The most recent streak before these was Wilt Chamberlain in 1973.” ESPN wrote about Reese’s achievement on X (formerly known as Twitter).
ESPN later deleted the achievement post because Drummond reminded them that his name was not mentioned in the post.
“You forgetting someone *cough.” Drummond wrote in his latest post on X.
Drummond, who was chosen by the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the 2012 NBA draft as the ninth overall pick, is renowned as one of the top rebounders in the league.

ESPN Takes A Step Back: Apology Issued For Overlooking Drummond
Reese replicated a feat previously accomplished by Drummond in 2019. The 76ers center earned his first All-Star title in 2016 and secured the NBA rebounding leader title four times in 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2020. Due to Drummond’s criticism of the false information, ESPN not only deleted the post but also issued an apology to the two-time NBA All-Star.
Drummond was pleased with ESPN’s apology and expressed his approval on his X account, stating, “Now do the right things, no Spike Lee.”
According to StatMuse, Drummond has played 12 seasons for 6 teams, including the Pistons and Bulls. He has averaged 12.7 points and 12.4 rebounds in 864 regular-season games. The 31-year-old has set several rebounding records, including reaching his 10,000th career rebound on November 6, 2023, in a game against the Utah Jazz.
