It’s too bad this Nets-Celtics series can’t be a best of 21, instead of a best of 7. Because it just keeps getting juicier and juicier.
The most recent bit of madness came on Sunday, following Brooklyn’s Game 4 victory in Boston. After the win, Nets guard Kyrie Irving was seen making his way to the center of the court at Boston Garden and stomping on the logo of his former team.
Then, as he made his way to the locker room with the rest of his teammates, a Celtics fan was spotted throwing a water bottle at Irving, narrowly missing the all-star’s head.
The fan was immediately apprehended by Boston police and taken away.
Since then, new footage has emerged, which gives us a better idea of where the bottle came from, and how close it came to nailing Kyrie in the face:

The good news for Irving and the Nets is that no one was hurt during the incident. And thanks to Irving’s 39 points and 11 rebounds in a 141-126 win, Brooklyn can now close things out at home in Game 5, and avoid the risk of having to play in Boston again this season.
