With the 2024 NBA Draft right on the doorstep, numerous mock drafts are picking up pace. One thing remained constant in most of those, and that is Alex Sarr being picked number 1. With interest growing in the Frenchman, NBA veteran Paul George dug deeper into the life of Sarr.
Recently, on his “Podcast P”, Paul George had Alex Sarr as a guest. Asking about his height, Sarr revealed that he was around 6’8″ by the time he was 14. Now standing at 7’1″, PG13 couldn’t believe the sheer size of the NBA prospect and could only be awestruck.
The 19-year-old currently plays for Australian NBL side Perth Wildcats. With the Hawks possessing the number one pick, Sarr is slated to be picked by the Atlanta franchise. Sarr previously had experience playing in the USA and that too in Atlanta with Overtime Elite league’s Team Overtime and YNG Dreamerz.
Sarr shouldn’t find adaptability a problem and meet expectations, as Paul George is already high on the rookie.
Paul George Compares Alex Sarr to Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo is a prototype of how a modern-day big man should be. Greek Freak’s robustness combined with silky ball handling makes him a two-way threat that Paul George sees in Alex Sarr.
“I like the Giannis comparison, I like the Giannis that is one of your favorite players because I kind of see a similar play style with the ability to get it off the rim, push and transition, handle it, create. I think he’s like him. Giannis is the prototype of a big man that you play through. So I love that comparison. I think he is a lot similar to how Giannis plays, in the style of Giannis,” said Paul George during the podcast.

Sarr was the one who disclosed his liking for Giannis and Kevin Durant and always wanted to model his game following the two. The center will join fellow Frenchman Victor Wembanyama in the NBA and soon will have a chance to go face-to-face with the ones he grew up admiring.
