ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski has been called out for spreading false stories pertaining to an expected offseason move by a top NBA player.
Damian Lillard has asked for a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers and only wants to go to Miami. However, according to Woj, the Blazers are willing to draw this out as long as possible to make sure that they get top value for the All-Star point guard.
Former ESPN personality Dan Le Batard has accused the NBA insider of being “bought and paid for” by the Blazers, branding his work on the trade developments “embarrassing.”
Speaking on his show, Le Batard claimed that there’s been no back and forth between the Heat and Blazers as the Heat are confident that the Western Conference side will not get an offer better than theirs given that Lillard doesn’t want to play anywhere else.
“Thank you for bringing up Woj…the Heat know that he’s just agenda-based, shilling, bought and paid for by Portland, it’s embarrassing that Woj is telling people it might be weeks or months on Lillard,” he said.
“This is the Heat’s position, there are no calls going back and forth. The offer is Herro and Herro is the best one you’re going to get from anybody, he’s better than Maxey, he’s the best you’re going to get, you’re boxed in, Lillard wants to be with us, this is the offer.”
Le Batard isn’t the only one who’s accused Wojnarowski of being dishonest over the Lillard trade saga. Another former ESPN analyst, Amin Elhassan, claimed as much on the same show earlier this month, calling Woj out for trying to protect the Blazers.

“Adrian knew. He knows what the deal is,” Elhassan declared. “What he is engaging in is protecting one of his closest sources by giving them cover by saying there’s no way he’s going to go to Miami and coming up with ridiculous premises like San Antonio could be a dark horse. It’s all poppycock.”
It’s being reported that the Heat have offered Herro, as well as Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, and several first-round picks for the Blazers star.
