Donovan Mitchell is a young star that any team would be lucky to have. The Utah Jazz would be lucky to keep him but the team is in the midst of a rebuild after falling short in the playoffs yet again.
Seven teams are said to be interested in the All-Star guard.
Per NBA insider Shams Charania via Bleacher Report, “The Wizards, Raptors, Hornets, Kings, Heat and Hawks along with the Knicks have expressed interest in Donovan Mitchell.”
While the Knicks continue to be viewed as the frontrunners to trade for Jazz star Donovan Mitchell, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic that talks between the two teams have moved slowly so far. New York and Utah remain far from an agreement, Charania adds.
Mitchell hasn’t requested a trade and hasn’t pushed to leave Utah, says Charania. He added that the Jazz are not in any rush to move the 25-year-old, who is still under contract for multiple seasons.
Charania: “With three years guaranteed remaining on Mitchell’s contract, the Jazz are not operating with a sense of urgency and have the time to evaluate the best offers for the 25-year-old.”

Mitchell is one of the top shooting guards in the NBA, and he has averaged at least 24.0 points per game in each of the last three seasons. He could help any one of those teams get a lot better if traded there.
The Jazz was the fifth seed in the Western Conference last season, and they lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the first round in six games.
