The 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend returns to the San Francisco Bay Area for the first time in 25 years, bringing an exciting three-day basketball spectacle from February 14-16. This year’s event features a revamped All-Star Game format, thrilling competitions, and a showcase of some of the best basketball talent from around the world.
The weekend begins on Friday, February 14, with the Castrol Rising Stars Practice at Oakland Arena at 12:30 p.m. ET, followed by the Basketball Hall of Fame News Conference at 6 p.m. ET. Later that evening, the Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game will take place at Oakland Arena at 7 p.m. ET, featuring a mix of celebrities and former NBA stars. The night wraps up with the Castrol Rising Stars competition at Chase Center at 9 p.m. ET, showcasing the league’s top young talents in a three-game series.
Saturday, February 15, starts with the NBA All-Star Practice at 2 p.m. ET, followed by the NBA HBCU Classic at 5 p.m. ET, where Morehouse College faces off against Tuskegee University. Commissioner Adam Silver will then address the media at 7 p.m. ET. The highlight of the night is State Farm All-Star Saturday Night at 8 p.m. ET at Chase Center, featuring the Kia Skills Challenge, the Starry 3-Point Contest, and the AT&T Slam Dunk Contest.
2025 NBA All-Star Game: New Format And Star-Studded Lineups
The traditional East vs. West format has been replaced with a four-team mini-tournament featuring a 40-point target score per game. The teams are led by NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, and Kenny Smith, with a fourth team managed by WNBA icon Candace Parker. The teams will compete in two semifinal games, with the winners advancing to the championship matchup.
Team Shaq boasts an elite lineup featuring LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown, Damian Lillard, and James Harden. Team Chuck is composed of international stars, including Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Pascal Siakam, Karl-Anthony Towns, Alperen Sengun, Donovan Mitchell, and Trae Young. Meanwhile, Team Kenny focuses on young, rising talent with Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, Jaren Jackson Jr., Jalen Williams, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, Cade Cunningham, and Tyler Herro. The fourth team will be determined by the winner of the Rising Stars event.
The main event takes place on Sunday, February 16, at 8 p.m. ET at Chase Center, where the four teams will battle for All-Star supremacy. Before the big game, the NBA Legends Brunch will air at 2 p.m. ET, followed by the G League Up Next Game at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The All-Star Game will feature semifinal games at 8:20 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. ET, with the championship set for 10 p.m. ET.
