The regular season is finally over, and the top eight teams in each conference are battling it out in this year’s playoffs. While the rest of the teams who failed to secure a playoff spot are now entering their unofficial offseason, things have quickly shifted as they now focus on the upcoming NBA Draft in June.
Let’s take a look at the 2024 NBA First-Round NBA Mock Draft for all 30 picks: 3.0.
Who will your favorite team select in the 2024 NBA Draft?
1. Detroit Pistons – F Alex Sarr (France)
As weeks go by, it certainly looks like Alex Sarr is the clear choice to go number one overall to the Pistons in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft. He’s widely viewed as the prospect who has the potential to become a star in the league, especially on the defensive end.
2. Washington Wizards – G Zaccharie Risacher (France)
Risacher has been struggling with his shot lately while playing in LNB Pro A, but scouts are convinced that his game is better suited for the NBA level. Charlotte also needs to draft the best available talent, and Risacher’s perceived upside is just too good to pass on this spot.
3. Charlotte Hornets – G Stephon Castle (UConn)

Castle made it official and entered his name in the 2024 NBA Draft. Many scouts believe that he is the best floor general in this class despite averaging somewhat subpar numbers on a loaded UConn team last season.
4. Portland Trail Blazers – Matas Buzelis (G-League Ignite)
Buzelis shot up in most mock drafts due to his strong showing with G-League ignite. He has the size and the tools to become a solid wing at the NBA level at 6 foot 8.
5. San Antonio Spurs – G Reed Sheppard (Kentucky)
The Spurs desperately need a point guard, and luckily for them, this year is loaded with a good number of floor generals. While it’s tempting to draft a project point guard oozing with potential at the fifth spot, they might stick to Sheppard, who is ready to start for them next season.
6. Toronto Raptors – G Ron Holland (G-League Ignite)
Some analysts predict that Ron Holland may become the best prospect in the entire 2024 NBA Draft class in a few years. If their prediction stands, then the Raptors should be ecstatic to get a player of his caliber in the sixth spot of the draft.
7. Memphis Grizzlies – C Donovan Clingan (UConn)
Clingan’s UConn numbers are quite tantalizing and the Grizzlies should be enticed to draft him at the seventh spot in June. He could slide into the starting center spot and form a wall in the paint with Jaren Jackson Jr to wreak havoc on defense.
8. Utah Jazz – G Rob Dillingham (Kentucky)
The Jazz will be more than happy if Dillingham falls into their lap in the upcoming NBA draft. While his defense needs some improvement, the 6-foot-3 guard’s offensive game is deemed ready for the pros.
9. Houston Rockets (From Brooklyn) – G Dalton Knecht (Tennessee)
Houston may choose another route and pick a player who’s ready to contribute now rather than later. Tennessee’s Dalton Knecht fits the bill, as the senior guard already has an NBA-caliber three-point shot in his arsenal.
10. Atlanta Hawks – G Cody Williams (Colorado)
With the ongoing noise in Atlanta regarding Trae Young’s availability to be traded in the offseason, the Hawks will be enamored to pick a guard who can be a starter on day one. Cody Williams should be a good prospect for them at the 10th spot.
11. Chicago Bulls – C Kyle Filipowski (Duke)
The Bulls are looking to run back their current core for one(or two) more seasons, and they may be in the market for an upgrade at the center spot. Duke’s Kyle Filipowski should be a great value pick in the draft for them as he’s projected to have a long career in the NBA.
12. Oklahoma City Thunder (From Houston) – C Ja’Kobe Walter
OKC has a deep understanding of how to play positionless basketball. With that being said, they would love to get their hands on Baylor’s Ja’Kobe Walter in June’s draft. He can slide in either guard or forward position for them next season.
13. Sacramento Kings – G Jarred McCain (Duke)
McCain is one of the most promising floor generals in this year’s draft class. Sacramento has a thin rotation in its backcourt, and McCain could realistically play behind star De’Aaron Fox on a nightly basis and learn a thing or two from him about how to be a successful point guard at the NBA level.
14. Portland Trail Blazers (From Golden State) – F Tidjane Salaun (France)
Don’t be surprised if Portland selects another wing in this draft class. Salaun is a project player but has tons of potential due to his size and surprisingly NBA-ready body frame at just 18 years old.
15. Miami Heat – G Isaiah Collier (USC)
There are lots of things that Collier needs to work on, but due to his solid freshman outing at USC, the Heat would be hard-pressed to pass on a talent like him in June. He’s one of the best guards in the nation when it comes to finishing at the paint.
16. Philadelphia 76ers – C Yves Missi (Baylor)
Due to Embiid’s injury woes, the Sixers may look at a big man prospect who can develop at a steady pace and perhaps start for them in the future. Baylor’s Yves Missi should be a great value pick for them in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft at the 16th spot.
17. New Orleans Pelicans (From Lakers) – F Jaylon Johnson (California)
New Orleans really loves tall guys who can run, shoot, defend, and score. Expect them to select another combo guard/forward in this draft class and California’s Jaylon Johnson truly checks all boxes for them as the 17th pick.
18. Orlando Magic – G Devin Carter (Providence)
The 6-foot-3 guard Providence star should be a great pick for Orlando at the 18th spot in the 2024 NBA draft. With Orlando’s tumultuous rotation in their backcourt this season, they may need someone like Carter who can fit right in and run their offense as a starter or a backup.
19. Toronto Raptors (From Indiana) – C Ke’lel Ware (Indiana)
The Raptors would be extremely happy if Indiana’s Ke’lel Ware is still available at the 19th spot for them in the 2024 NBA Draft. Ware’s game is comparable to Cleveland’s Jarrett Allen but equipped with a decent jump shot from the perimeter.
20. Cleveland Cavaliers – Tyler Smith (G-League Ignite)
With neither Evan Mobley nor Jarrett Allen having a perimeter game in their arsenal, the Cavs would probably look for a backup big who can stretch the floor for them next season. Tyler Smith’s smooth-looking jumper should be enough to convince them to select him at 20.
21. New Orleans (From Milwaukee) – G Tyler Kolek (Marquette)
Kolek was one of the best floor generals in college basketball last season. With New Orleans’s backcourt having some rotation problems, Kolek would be a welcome addition to the team next season.
22. Phoenix Suns – F Ryan Dunn (Virginia)
The Suns need a point guard but they’d be hard-pressed to select a quality player at this spot who can immediately contribute for them next season. Their next best option is to select a wing that can defend multiple positions on the floor. Ryan Dunn’s offense is extremely limited, but he was a defensive monster during his two seasons at Virginia.
23. Milwaukee Bucks (From New Orleans) – F Zach Edey (Purdue)
With Brook Lopez entering the twilight of his career, it’s time for the Bucks to find his replacement in this year’s NBA draft. Edey’s style may contradict the team’s uptempo offense, but he could be a huge presence for them in the paint in a backup role.
24. New York Knicks (From Dallas) – G/F Kevin McCullar Jr. (Kansas)
Selecting Kevin McCullar – the senior out of Kansas – will be a signature Tom Thibodeau pick. Thibs loves rookies who can contribute now rather than later, and the 23-year-old can immediately earn minutes for New York next season.
25. New York Knicks – G Hunter Sallis (Wake Forest)
Sallis was a former five-star prospect in high school who took his time in college to develop his game. He shot the lights out at three last season with Wake Forest and the Knicks definitely could use an additional shooter in the roster with Brunson running the offense.
26. Washington Wizards (From Clippers) – G/F Johnny Furphy (Kansas)
This could be a hit-or-miss selection, as Furphy had a one-dimensional game during his time with Kansas. But the potential to become a solid contributor at the NBA level should be enough for the Wizards to consider his draft selection this late in the first round.
27. Minnesota Timberwolves – F Tristan da Silva (Colorado)
The Wolves are pretty much set in every position on their roster, but adding talent like da Silva should be a no-brainer for their front office. The Colorado senior was one of the best players in their conference last season and could contribute for them in a backup role next season.
28. Denver Nuggets – G Terrence Shannon Jr. (Illinois)
The Nuggets will look to contend as long as they can, as Nikola Jokic is still in the middle of his prime years. If we look at their recent draft history, they’d prefer proven college stars rather than taking a project player. Terrence Shannon Jr. is one of the oldest prospects in this year’s NBA draft class, at 24 years old. He could slide right into the rotation for them from the get-go.
29. Utah Jazz (From Oklahoma City) – F Bobi Klintman (Sweden)
The Jazz will be looking to add young talent to their roster, and Sweden’s Bobi Klintman should be a decent gamble at the 29th spot. Klintman is extremely raw and might not be able to contribute right away, but once he bulks up his frame, his potential will be limitless.
30. Boston Celtics – F DaRon Holmes II (Dayton)
The Celtics need some help in their frontcourt rotation, and Holmes should be a nice pickup for them as the last pick in the first round. As a junior at Dayton, Holmes already has an NBA-ready body and also displayed a much improved outside shot.
