With the 2023-2024 NBA Playoffs right on our doorstep, it’s quite easy to forget the upcoming NBA Draft in June. But make no mistake as teams are sending their scouts all over the world to scour all the best talents available in this relatively ‘weaker’ class. To emphasize the lack of a consensus on who’s going number one, the NBA Mock Draft on each sports site may look very different when we compare them with each other.
But with every perceived weak class, there are young studs who will inevitably come out on top and outperform their draft peers.
Let’s take a look at the 2024 NBA First-Round NBA Mock Draft for all 30 picks: 2.0.
Presenting our 2024 NBA Mock Draft for all 30 picks in the first round 2.0
1. Detroit Pistons – F Alex Sarr (France)
Sarr’s strong showing in the NBL convinced many scouts of his immediate and long-term potential on an NBA team. Even though Detroit already has Jalen Duren at the center spot, they should draft the best talent available, and right now, that’s Alex Sarr.
2. Charlotte Hornets – G Rob Dillingham (Kentucky)
Many scouts are convinced that Rob Dillingham’s game and potential could rival Cleveland’s all-star guard Darius Garland. If that’s true, then finding an NBA prospect in 2024 with a possible all-star ceiling should be a slam dunk for a weak draft class like this one.

3. San Antonio Spurs – G Reed Sheppard (Kentucky)
Sheppard is a high-IQ player who can lead a rebuilding team from the get-go. The Spurs are in dire need of a steady point guard who can grow with franchise cornerstone Victor Wembanyama, and the Kentucky guard truly fits the bill for them.
4. Washington Wizards – F Zaccharie Risacher (France)
Due to Risacher’s continued struggle in LNB Pro A, his stock has taken a dip from one to fourth. Most 2024 NBA mock drafts still have him within the top-five range because the potential for him to become a franchise pillar in the future is just too good to pass.
5. Portland Trail Blazers – F Matas Buzelis (G-League Ignite)
Realistically, Buzelis’s draft range could be anywhere from five up to the end of the 2024 NBA draft lottery. But he stays at five for now because a few reports suggest that he has shown some maturity in his game, which closely(or loosely) resembles former Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu.

6. Toronto Raptors – G Nikola Topic (Serbia)
A young kid like Topic may need some time to adjust to the NBA game, but the Raptors should be a perfect place for him as they are currently in the midst of a rebuilding phase. The young Serbian is one of the best passers in Europe and already has a decent jump shot that could easily translate to the NBA level.
7. Memphis Grizzlies – C Donovan Clingan (UConn)
With Steven Adams’ uncertainty, the Grizzlies should be smart and draft the 7 foot 2 Clingan from UConn in the upcoming draft. Clingan is a great defender and moves well for his size. He can easily form an intimidating frontcourt with Jaren Jackson Jr. for Memphis.
8. Utah Jazz – G Stephon Castle (Connecticut)
With Utah having some backcourt problems all season long, Connecticut’s Stephon Castle should be able to ease some worries for them if they have the chance to select him as the 8th pick of the 2024 NBA Draft. He can play both guard spots and his potential has him climbing at the top of the lottery in recent weeks.
9. Houston Rockets (From Brooklyn) – G Ron Holland (G-League Ignite)
Holland would be a good pick for the Rockets at the 9th spot. He was once projected to become one of the top picks in previous NBA mock drafts, but his stock took a hit due to his inconsistency on the court during his time with the G-League Ignite.
10. Atlanta Hawks – G Cody Williams (Colorado)
The younger brother of OKC’s Jalen Williams, Cody Williams should provide some backcourt stability with the Hawks, especially if the Trae Young trade talk chatter recently materializes in the upcoming offseason. Should Young be dealt with in the summer, Williams could naturally slide in on either guard spot.
11. Chicago Bulls – G Dalton Knecht (Tennesee)
If the Bulls won’t blow up their current core, it would make much sense if they’ll draft a player who can contribute right away next season. Knecht is one of the best shooters in the entire 2024 NBA draft class.
12. Oklahoma City Thunder – C Kyle Filipowski (Duke)
With OKC’s thin frontcourt rotation, Duke’s Kyle Filipowski would be a great value pick in this spot. He doesn’t have superstar potential but could essentially become a serviceable big man for the young Thunder squad for a very long time.
13. Sacramento Kings – G Jarred McCain (Duke)
Due to Sacramento’s lack of backcourt depth behind Fox and Monk, we certainly think that McCain can become an instant contributor for the team next season. The Duke guard has shown that he can run the offense and hunt for his shots when needed.

14. Portland Trail Blazers (From Golden State) – G/F Ja’Kobe Walter (Baylor)
While Walter’s game is limited as he’s struggled to create his own offense during his time with Baylor, many scouts believe that his game is better suited in the pros rather than in college. With Portland needing every bit of help in every position, they should consider one of the best three and D prospects in the 2024 NBA draft at this spot.
15. Miami Heat – G Isaiah Collier (USC)
There are still some concerns about Isaiah Collier’s shotmaking and playmaking, and not playing at the NCAA tournament(USC did not qualify) certainly did not help his case in the eyes of talent evaluators and scouts. However, he still has solid fans around the league circles and many consider him as a late lottery prospect.
16. Orlando Magic – G Devin Carter (Providence)
Should the Magic want some stability at either guard position and continued progress on the court, the 6-foot-3 guard out of Providence should be a great value pick for Orlando at the 16th spot in the 2024 NBA draft. Despite his relatively small size, Carter averaged 8.7 rpg in his junior year for the Friars.
17. Toronto Raptors (From Indiana) – C Ke’lel Ware (Indiana)
The Raptors need an upgrade at the center spot, as Jakob Poeltl had a down year in terms of basketball production. Indiana big man Ke’lel Ware is an intriguing option at the 17th spot for Toronto. He can finish lobs, has great footwork, and has a developing outside shot that extends beyond the three-point line.
18. New Orleans Pelicans (From Lakers) – F Tidjane Salaun (France)
At just 18 years old, Tidjane Salaun is considered a prospect who will need a couple more years to be a contributor to an NBA team. With the Pelicans having multiple wings on the roster, he will be given the time to hone his game and study from the sidelines until he’s ready to shine for the team.
19. Philadelphia 76ers – G Terrence Shannon Jr. (Illinois)
The Sixers probably won’t take a project player at the 2024 NBA draft as they may not have the patience to develop him now that Embiid’s prime years are in full effect. Illinois combo guard/forward Terrence Shannon Jr. can immediately play from day one due to his vast experience at the college level.
20. Cleveland Cavaliers – Tyler Smith (G-League Ignite)
The Cavs may be compelled to select a big man in the draft due to Mobley and Allen’s presence on the frontcourt, but Tyler Smith’s developing three-point shot may be too good to pass up if they have a chance to select him at the 20th spot.
21. New Orleans (From Milwaukee) – C Yves Missi (Baylor)
With the Pelicans frontcourt often suffering from injury woes in the last couple of years, it would make sense for them to draft a big man at this spot. Yves Missi is an extremely raw prospect with tons of upside and could become a really nice player for them in the future.
22. Milwaukee Bucks (From New Orleans) – F Tristan da Silva (Colorado)
The Bucks would certainly pick a player who could potentially help them now rather than later, as they are still chasing another championship with Giannis Antetokounmpo in his prime. Tristan da Silva is a senior player for Colorado, and his maturity on the court was often praised by NBA scouts throughout the NCAA Tournament.
23. Phoenix Suns – F Ryan Dunn (Virginia)
Ryan Dunn’s draft stock is all over the place, as some 2024 NBA mock drafts have him in the low end of the first round or the middle of the second round. While his scoring is severely limited, many see his defensive skills as his greatest asset as a player who could translate well in the NBA.
24. New York Knicks (From Dallas) – G/F Kevin McCullar Jr. (Kansas)
As we all know by now, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau loves a rookie who has the skills to contribute now rather than later. The 23-year-old senior from Kansas is definitely a Thibs kind of guy, and that’s hard to unsee.
25. New York Knicks – C Zach Edey (Purdue)
Is it possible for the Knicks to take a gamble on Edey? Who knows? The Knicks are kinda thin at the frontcourt spot and selecting the Purdue star as the 25th pick of the 2024 NBA Draft will definitely intrigue their fanbase next season.
26. Washington Wizards – G/F Johnny Furphy (Kansas)
Furphy played mostly off the ball for Kansas last season but was very effective in his role within the team. For a team that lacks a legitimate shooter from the outside, Furphy could immediately play for 15 to 20 minutes a night for the Wizards and showcase his skills.
27. Minnesota Timberwolves – F Kyshawn George (Miami)
The Miami forward shot the lights out at the three-point line in his freshman season with the team at a 40.8% clip. However, as good as he is from behind the line, he is somewhat subpar in the two-point range due to his lack of explosiveness off the floor.
28. Denver Nuggets – C Ulrich Comche (Cameroon)
The 28th spot in the 2024 NBA draft seems safe for a project player like Comche. While there are some serious risks of selecting him this high, as most NBA mock drafts have him in the latter part of the second round, Denver would happily welcome the high-risk/high-reward scenario that has surrounded the Cameroonian big man.
29. Utah Jazz (From Oklahoma City) – G Tyler Kolek (Marquette)
With the Jazz’s awful rotation on either guard spot last season, they need somebody who can contribute as soon as possible on a limited basis but also has the potential to become a starter in a few years. Kolek was one of the best point guards in college last season and he might be what the Jazz need in the upcoming draft.
30. Boston Celtics – F Bobi Klintman (Sweden)
It’s no secret that the Celtics need help in the forward position as their rotation is rather shallow compared to other title contenders. Bobi Klintman is widely viewed as a project player but could still potentially contribute to the team for a few minutes each night next season.
