Michael Schumacher remains worse for wear following his skiing accident in 2013.
The German, a former racecar driver, spent 250 days in a medically induced coma after the episode that nearly cost him his life and has been away from the public eye since then.
A close friend recently provided an update, though it does not paint a great picture.
According to the Daily Mail, journalist Roger Benoit was recently asked for an assessment of the erstwhile Formula One star’s condition and it was not great.
“There is only one answer to this question and that is what his son Mick gave in one of his rare interviews in 2022: ‘I would give anything to talk to Dad,'” Benoit said. “This sentence says everything about how his father has been doing for over 3,500 days. A case without hope.”
Schumacher’s family has kept him in a very private space since his accident. However, his wife, Corina, spoke about him in a Netflix documentary titled ‘Schumacher’ in 2021.
“Michael is here,” she explained. “Different, but he’s here, and that gives us strength, I find.

“We’re together. We live together at home. We do therapy. We do everything we can to make Michael better and to make sure he’s comfortable. And to simply make him feel our family, our bond. And no matter what, I will do everything I can. We all will.”
Schumacher won seven F1 championships, as well as 91 Grand Prix races before the unfortunate incident in 2013.
