Dricus Du Plessis became the undisputed Middleweight champion of the world after beating Sean Strickland in a rather close fight which could have gone either way. The Middleweight strap of the UFC has never been in the same hands since Israel lost it to Sean Strickland. The fans were left wondering against who will Dricus defend his belt for the very first time for his title defense. As it turns out Dricus gave the MMA world a small hint as to who is he going to fight and take on in the future.
Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya have previously exchanged words inside the octagon. Many still doubt Du Plessis’ African origins given the fact he is white.

Israel Adesanya has been out of the Middleweight picture since losing his title out to Sean Strickland last year after thrilling five rounds. He has previously exchanged words with almost everyone including Dricus Du Plessis. Recently Du Plessis poked fun giving the fans a subtle hint that Israel Adesanya might be next for him for his title defense. Dricus wrote,

I’m in, I also wouldn’t want to fight the king of Africa on home soil. Manifestations working good for you AGAIN!
Dricus made it clear that he is ready to take on Israel in Perth, Australia in the near future. He also said he would not be keen to beat Israel in his African homeland. Dricus Du Plessis has beaten some of the biggest names in the UFC till now including Sean Strickland and Robert Whittaker. It’ll be interesting to see how he matches up against Israel’s elite kickboxing skills in the upcoming months.
Israel is yet to make a return to the Octagon since his loss to Strickland. Some were left wondering does it mean Strickland is not going to get a title shot given how close the scrap between Strickland and Dricus was. It’ll be interesting to see how does the Middleweight division shapes up in the near future.
