Chris Curtis secured his win in his first fight with Brendan Allen in UFC Vegas 44.
Curtis, a veteran of Dana White’s Contender Series and a former PFL fighter, won his sixth straight fight. Despite being a significant underdog, Curtis stunned and disoriented Allen in the second round with a vicious left hook to the body and a quick right hand upstairs.
Curtis made a 2-0 in the UFC with a remarkable 6-0 record in 2021. Curtis took his time finishing the fight, backing Allen back up against the fence where he delivered blows to the head. Curtis then found a place for a knee, which prompted referee Herb Dean to intervene and give Curtis the victory in the second round as his UFC tale continued to make headlines.

How Did Brendan Allen Defeat Chris Curtis?
After combining several strikes, including several body kicks and a deft jab, Brendan Allen shifted his focus to his striking. Late in the first round, Allen slid to the ground in an attempt to apply a leg lock. He tried a heel hook and an ankle lock, but Curtis Curtis was able to escape and avoid any trouble.
Although Allen was doing a good job, Curtis remained unfazed and kept attacking with his power punches, giving close attention to his body shots.
Chris Curtis’s instructors gave him some really helpful advice in between rounds, telling him to go to his body and then back up top to the head to set up his fight-ending strikes.

After giving Brendan Allen a hard left to the ribs and a vicious overhand right that had the former LFA middleweight champion on rubber legs, Curtis showed that he was paying attention and delivered.
The referee hurried in to break up the fight as Chris Curtis continued to charge forward with punches and then began dropping knees to Allen’s head until the latter eventually collapsed to the canvas.
Curtis had to wait an unusually long time to be granted entry into the UFC, but he is already demonstrating that he is capable of competing against everyone the organization throws at him. Less than a month has passed since he won his first fight via knockout.
